We Will Give You cant keep a good man down, so the saying goes; neither can you teep the Boys Glee club from progressing. Those who heard them sing in assembly the other day will vouch nr that. Hut what could you expect after all they did last year? Fellows of their type don't make a habit of demoting themselves, so I'm sure we can expect more from them this year. And say! Wow wotta start they have! The club is all organized, the officers are elected, uniforms have keen adopted, they have entertained at one assembly and are working on another engagement now. But best of all they have been selected to occupy twenty minutes of the crowded program of the annual U. E. A. convention at Salt Lake City one week front today. Their presentation will consist of ten minutes of voice technique, which will include posture, breathing, voice placement and blending, using various vowels, pronunciation, and enunciation, and ten minutes of applied singing. The following songs will be sung: Steal Away, a negro spiritual; Serenade by Schubert; and Thu Little Soldier by I)r. Charles Vincent. The program will be held in the auditorium of West vicinity to attend the game, according to J. F. Gimlin, Jr., chuirman of the football committee of the chamber of commerce. The contest, which is Ogdon'B only Rocky Mountain conference game of the season, promises to be more than a thriller to the sport fans. Riva teams from the Colorado Agriculture college with their bund, and the University of Utah will be in attendance to note the strength of the two con testants. VOTE TO GIVE battle with the Bear River Bears. The game was very evenly matched and was much closer than the score indicated, the score being 20 to 0. The small but sturdy Bears continually found their way through the Tiger's line, but were brought down long before they became dangerous by the brilliant back field. The Orange and Black pushed the pigskin across the line three times and sent it sailing over the posts twice for two extra points. Ogdens extra weight gave them a marked advan tage over Bear River, yet some fast plays were pulled by both teams. The student body was well represented, and it is estimated that two hundred enthusiastic Ogdenites fount some way to attend the game. The west side of the field was lined with can of all sizes, makes and states of depreciation which were flying the hard-foug- ht school colors. The Tigen play Preston today, and with the support of the student body they should repeat their performance at Bear River. It all depends upon the school, so lets see a grand and glorious crowd at the park this afternoon. After our glorious victory over the Bean last Friday, I think we should be honored by an introduction to our noble team. What do you say, gang? What? Ah, thats the spirit! Well, then,' here goes: See that tall military appearing fellow there on the right? Thats Leslie Mayer, one of the sergeant's sons; and that chap over there is his brother, Hugh. Leslie plays center, and Hugh plays tackle. You all know Albert (Ah.) Beach. He is another center. Those four guys bunched together back there, Ernest Tarrnn, August Ahlf, Sam . COLTON and LEATHERWOOD HERBERT HOOVER, born and raised in a farming community, a training and experience in economic problems not surpassed by any other man today, with a proved genius for organization, has declared that the most important problem the next administration will have to solve is the farm problem. He is without question the logical nun to lead the American farmer to a sound basis of prosperity. REPUBLICAN TICKET A Definite Plan of Relief National For Prealdeat An adequate tariff is the foundation of farm relief. I would use my office and influeiiiie to give the farmer the full benefit of our historic tariff policy." In his acceptance speech, Hoover said: "An outstanding proposal of the Party program is the wholehearted pledge to undertake the reorganization of the marketing ayitem upon sounder and more economical lines. We have already contributed greatly to this purpose by the acts supporting farm cooperatives, the establishment of intermediate credit banks, the regulation of stockyards, public exchanges and tlie expansion of the Dc- of Agriculture. The platform proposes to go much farther, fartment the creation of a Federal Farm Board of representative farmer to be clothed with authority and resources with which not snd pools and to assist only to still further aid fanners' farm but in of solution generally especially to build up problems stabilizawith federal finance, farmer-owne- d and tion corporations which will protect the farmer from tlie depressions and demoralization of seasonal gluts and periodical surpluses. farmer-controll- HERBERT HOOVES For Ylro Prealdeat HI A ULUS Cl'KTIB State Ticket For II.
