BECKER Becker Products nt Company i I There could not be a more opportune time to impress on the people of Ogden, and in fact the entire state, the importance of the livestock industry in Utah. We, of Ogdon, are especially for- -' unate to have located within our city gates, the Ogden Stock Yards, various livestock commission firms, ;he American Packing and Provision company, and a number of lesser livestock dealers. When we consider that n the short space of ten years, the Ogden Stock Yards have expanded until during 1927, there were handled y them, 1,557,918 head of livestock at a value of $25,000,000, we get a slight idea of what that vast industry means to this city. As the greater iart of that $25,000,000 clears through our local banks each year, it is easy to see that the livestock ndustry is one of if not the largest ndividual industry here. Aside from the ever increasing volume of business done by the above firm, there is the big packing plant, which handles a great number of fat stock daily. Four train loAls of livestock arc diverted from Ogden daily, to roast and eastern markets, all of which are landled here at our yards, and in every transaction, money is left "in circulation here. The feeding of livestock has also ecome so solidly installed at and near Ogden, that it ranks among our big revenue producers. At this time, and n one neighborhood just west of Og They are eating the surplus feed They are eating the surplus feed, grown hy our farmers, who would find a scant market or none at all, f it were not for the importance of the feeding industry.
