The drive was launched a couple of weeks ago, but was postponed for one week on account of the ited Cross drive to raise Weber countys quota for the Missis- sifdlieflood sufferers. drive for the raising of funds for the Salvution Army is on again. The people of Ogden know that the Sulvuliun Army is one of the greatest benefactors of humanity ever seen in the United States or most countries throughout the world. In Ogden there are several hundred young men who gave their service to the United Ktutes and the cause of the Allies during the World war, who have the highest words of pruisu for ihe good work of the Salvation Army in the theatre of war. The Sulvntion Army more than "did its bit"' in the cause of the allied armies in the great hnttlc that insured the denuierney of the nations of the world against the tnnnarchislic foe. The "S. A. lints," back of the trenches, became famous with our boys "over there" for the doughnuts and steaming hot coffee. Many stories are told of the fatigued doughboys who have staggered into the Salvation Army hut, after hours of continuous service in the trenches without rest, and after being refreshed with hot coffee and doughnuts went out and captured a few of the enemy to show their appreciation for the good eup of coffee and doughnuts. The drive for funds of the Salvation Army is a yuost worthy cause. Jhe donation, large or small, will be appreciated. It shows the spirit of the people in remembering the wonderful organization. From the statement of the owner, made to both the city and county commissioners, the daily receipts of the show were such as could easily pay the fee as was fixed by the city and county. The fee agreed upon was based upon the amount of actual taxes as paid by the perma nent theatres. In justice to the thea tre men of Ogden, it might he well to sHy that they were at no time opposed to u tent show coming into the city, hut they objected very strenuously to the tent show only paying fifty dollars a year, or a portion thereof, for the rigrt to come into the city and to compete with tho institutions hevirg thousands of dollars invested. sfk Eli pleiity milk m larking easily pi ii secei identific disfigur in cai filth ar the chei stock 8 re eat will their hied to oil H rents rives bull sho P!W, The nianage benefici be plea the dai: Urge Tlhro FATIGUE TO III.
