On Friday evening the ward honored Miss Hodson with a farewell A party at the amusement hall. program was given and was followed by a dance. A large crowd attended. Those participating on the program were: Mabel and Martha Hansen, vocal duet; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Eyre, vocal duet; Gladys Wayment, and Hazel Marriott, piano duet; Hasel Knight, local news; Arvilla Eyre, piano solo. Professor Floyd Eyre gave a short talk and Miss Hodson responded. Mr. and Mrs. James Marriott had as their guests on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Hogge and daughter, Dora, of Plain City; Nelda Allen of Ogden and Blanch King of West Point. Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Wayment had as their guests during the weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Ariel Hawke, Mrs. Ellen Thomas and Phyllis Thomas of Preston, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brown and children spent Sunday in Layton with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown. Marvel Wayment, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. F. Wayment, broke her right arm Wednesday while playing. Mrs. Virgil Hinchcliffe of Ogden was the guest last week of Mrs. Manella Hancock. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Skeen and family will attend the Skeen family reunion in Plain City on Saturday. Ernest Card on received injuries to his left leg on Thursday while working on his threshing machine. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Wayment, Mrs. Jane Bullock and Mrs. Sarah E. Wayment attended the funeral services for Alexander Hunter in Slate rville Friday. Miss Vera Wayment spent the week-en-d in Ogden with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas East. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Hansen and children of West Weber and Mr. and Mrs. David Peterson and children of Taylor spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Hansen. Mrs. Manella Hancock and children attended the Hancock family reunion at Lorin Farr park on Saturday. Holmes entertained at a party Tuesday evening in honor of Miss Thelma Brown of Farr West, and her son, Moaiah Holmes, who are to be married today in the Salt Lake temple. Sixty guests were present. A program of music, games, and readings waa enjoyed and at midnight a delicious tray luncheon was served. The Misses Weithe, Lucy, Jennie, and Maude Holmes assisted their mother in entertaining. The young couple will leave after the ceremony for a tour of the southern Utah parka and upon their return they will be at home to their friends at their cottage in Eaat Wilson Lane. Members of the H club girls sewing class closed their seasons work with a picnic party to Lagoon last week. The leaders of the club are Miss Fawn Olsen and Mias Esther Van Schaar. Ruth Olsen, Jeaaene McFarland, Fee Williamson, Irene Drake and Grace Johnson are the members who completed the course. A picnic party, including dancing md swimming at Como Springs last svening was enjoyed by members of the Ogden tabernacle choir. ' Mrs. E. J. Marshall of Ely, Nev., is visiting hero with relatives and friends. Mrs. David C. Shupe returned home Thursday after visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Thora Morris of Glendale, California, during the summer months. Miss Doris Harper, who has been spending the summer with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Ellis, returned Saturday to her home in Lava, Idaho, where she will complete her high school course. Miss Jetts Barker left Tuesday to attend the University of southern California at Los Angeles. She will enroll as a junior. Mr. and Mis. Marcus Ellis and mall daughter, Lou Ann, left recently for a motor tour of California. Mr. Ellis is an employee of the Utah State Industrial school. Miss Karma Chadwick spent last week visiting with Miss Myrle Stallings of Eden. TAYLOR Funeral servicu for Edward Charles Clark were held in the Taylor ward chapel Tuesday afternoon with Bishop Edward T. Saunders of Ogden preriding. The invocation waa given by Councilor George A. Hunter, and the benediction by David Hancock. Those giving musical number! were Elmer Gibson, Paul Oakie, Anne May Col-linElsie Gibson, and Mrs. Martin. The speakers were Bishop William Jardine, W. C. Hunter, President Wilmer J. Maw, Bishop Jamu J. Gibson, and Bishop Saunders. Mr. Clark died at a local hospital Saturday, following an operation. He wu born in England, January 22, 1868, a son of Jamu and Salina Wells Clark. He came to Utah at the age of four with his parents who were L. D. S. converts. He was married to Sarah M. Walker in 1838 in the Salt Lake Endowment house, and they made their home in Taylor until seven years ago, when they moved to Ogden. Surviving are hia widow, one daughter, Mrs. William Gibson, and one son, LeRoy Clarke, of Taylor; even grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. John Robinson, of Salt Lake.
