Last night at midnight a telephone message came to the polite station that there had been a shooting scrape at the Wilbur home out In Glasgow addition and requesting the officers to go out and investigate. Captain Brown was railed, and with Officers Wilson and Chambers went out there in a cab. Glasgow addition is out beyond tbe race track and the officers had quite a ride through the mud, which is hub deep out that way. When they arrivod they found that Elisha Wilbur had gone home drunk and was feeling in somewhat of a fighting mood. He waa preparing to retire for the night, hut got into some kind of a jangle with the people there, hi wife and two young men, when he pulled his revolver. The other men tried to take the gun away from hint and in the scuffle the gun was discharged when close to the bed and set the bedding on Are. He was not long in repenting his rash act. for he told the officers that they might have the gun and that lie never would own another.
