In the course of n year or two, enjoy the privileges to be derived from trolley service. A little over a year ago Senator Reed Smoot and others announced their intention of building an interurban trolley line from Logan to Payson via Ogden, Salt Lake and Provo, provided the necessary franchises could be obtained. The project is now assured of ample financial backing and the sentiment generally is that the franchises will be granted. While the project was launched by western men, eastern capitalists are behind the scheme with ample financial Cleveland, backing. B. Mahler, of Ohio, who is one of the financiers behind the plan. Is in the state laboring to get the necessary franchises. The Provo, commercial club has passed a resolution to the effect that the organisation use its best efforts to the end that the franchises may be granted. The elertrie line will reach from Payson to Logan, but If It proves at the start to be a paying proposition. It might be extended further north and south. All the larger settlements on the main road will be reached by the new line, which will be equipped both for passengers and freight. It is planned by the promoters of the new road to build a series of boulevards and parks along the roadway. The trolley line will follow the road and It is the Intention to make the road a macadamized thorough fore for wagons and automobiles. The parks will surround the railway stations, and the roadway will not Interfere with the railway, but each will develop and Increase the traffic of the other. Provo la to be the starting point and the road will be built north and south from there until the whole system Is completed. The promoters are of the opinion that the time Is now ripe for actual commencement of the work and have entered into the project with a determination of pushing the matter through to a successful termination. The civic authorities of each city and settlement along the line of the projiosed road will be asked for franchises for right of way. $600 GETS the general yardmaster's hi mSy here, haa severed his connection with the railroad company a:d will kve this morning for San Francisco nhere he will likely move his family to, when he gets settled down. .
