A wet spring, with enough of warm weather to facilitate growing, combined wltb an abundance of water during the dry mouths of summer, and the Improved methods of cultivation that are belug gradually adopted by the farmers uf the county have established the crop in a flourishing condition. It is estimated that the recent rain added tons to the total crop. Judge Rolapp estimates the crop of the county at 60.000 ton, an increase of li.ooo tons over the crop of last veer, and this, too, with l.OOo acres less of planted beets. The acreage of last year totaled 4.700, while this year it barely reaches i"on. Never was the outlook better, said Judge Rolapp, thla morning, excellent conditions exist in the county and the crop promises to be one of surpassing yield. Sugar ia at present low. but the fluctuations in the open market will not affert the price of the beets In the least. In many places the yield per acre will he worth twice what the land la worth and farmers are encouraged. A short time ago a German seed man. expert in beet culture, wae in Ogden and expreased astonishment thst the farmers were able to raise beets in the county under the present methods. The fertility of the soil alone accounts for it. We are, however, taking an optimistic view of the future and expect to see agriculturists revolutionise the Industry. In Cache valley the crop la estimated at mo.nno tons, making the total crop handled by the Amalgamated company In two counties 160,000 tona. Rig results are expected when harveat days commence around Logan. Many farmers estimate their harvest at forty tone per acre remarkable yield. Beet sampling has commenced in Weher county.' So far the saccharine quality of the crop ie below the required percentage, but a few days more of maturing is expected to bring the desired sugar per cent. o DENIES CHURCH INTERFERES Democrats at Saltair Electrified by Impassioned Utterance of B.
