London, Jan. 7. The Mark Lane Kcprem says that deliveries of home grow wheat at Mark Lane hyve been comparatively high, but farmers have marketed their produce pretty freely in the country, although the condition of offerings was very unsatisfactory. Sales have consequently been difficult, Still, allowing for poorness of quality and holiday character trade, business was not unduly depressed and in very few instances has it been necessary to make a reduction to effect sales of English wheat where samples have been in a workable condition. Imports of foreign wheat into London have assumed the customary phase of winter scantiness. The arrivals to " Friday were only 3,(XJ0 qtfarters made up Chiefly of American descriptions. Defeated, on the ground that the resolution did not embrace a question of privilege. On motion of Harrison, the judiciary committee was directed to inquire into the charges against Judge Hodgell, of the westers district of Illinois. Harrison rose to a question of high privilege, and offered a resolution reciting that Henry W. Blodgett, United States district judge for the northern district of Illinois, had been guilty of gross misconduct and cor ruption, atal providing for the selec tion of a committoe of live members to examine such charges and to inquire intd 'Judge Blodgett' official conduct, and to report what action the House ahould take m the premises, with power to send for persons, papers, etc. j Garfield suggested that the resolution should . be referred to tho Judiciary Committee. Buchard moved lo amend by sub stituting Judiciary Committee for special committee. Thfc amendment was advocated by himself, Tucker and Hanna, and was resisted by Harrison. But finally it was agreed to, and the resolution,8 as so amended; was adopted. J ho House then went into a com mittee of the whole on the Geneva award bill. Edmunds, from the judicial committee, reported back a petition from tho, citizens of Alaska asking that that territory be attached to the state of Oregon for judicial purposes with a recommendation that the committee be discharged from further consideration of the subject, as they were of the opinion that no legislation was expedient at this time. The Committee was discharged from further consideration. He also reported back from the same committee a bill supplemental to several acts relative to 'ho Union Pacific Riilroad, and moved that the bill be referred to the committee on railroads, as it involved no question of law for tho Judiciary Committee to consider. So ordered. He also reported from the same committee, favorably, on the Senate bill, authorizing the proper accounting officers of the Treasury Department to audit and pay to Samuel McLin, of Florida, who was appointed by the President an associate justice of the Territory of New Mexico, the salary provided by law for said office for the period during which said McLin performed the duties of his office.
