Show OBITUARY 19 11 ARRIET H ow the obsequies over the remains of mo mother ther harriet 11 critchlow who died march 28 were acl n the second ward meetinghouse meeting house march the services wera werts conducted by bishop robert after sinning sing inic the opening prayer was made by elder kichard richard ballantyne addresses suitable to the occasion were made by president lorin farr elder james burch patriarch william middleton president debt C and bishop all spoke in the hig highest fiest terms of commendation of our deceased sister whom they bad had known intimately for very many yeara years they te testified stifled to her integrity and truthfulness to the work of god she has fought the good fight kept the faith and will receive a crown of glory in tho the celestial kingdom of ad the benediction was pronounced by elder joseph hall the grave was dedicated byll by bishop ishop robertic aobert r harriet H critchlow wife of patriarch wm win critchlow of ogden city utah was born in mcconnell McCon nels town bedford co pa april jtb 1805 when she was about 7 years of age she moved with her fathers family to indiana county pa at which place he married kowm critchlow feb 1832 she first heard tho the dospel as proclaimed by thee the elders iders of the church of jesus christ of lat ter day saints feb 1839 two month months after this time her husband became convinced of the truth of the foulness of the gospel as made known by the elders of aid said church and was soon after baptised baptized sed by samuel james an elder EIde of that Ch church she did not receive the ibe work at the same time as her husband but was afterwards baptised baptized sed by almon W blitt in the month ot of march 1840 previous to her baptism she bad had a remarkable vision which convinced here it ft was the work of god from that day until her death ebe she felt a deep interest in the welfare of the latter day saints passing through many affliction with her husband he ile was Ee verely injured by a fall on the 2 of july 1838 and has neverseen never been able to walk from that day to his this writing she was a kind affectionate wife to her husband for nearly 49 years yeam of bis his affliction always having a deep solicitude for bis his welfare and their children and more especially fer for those of her grand children of which she had 21 and eix six creat great grand children she left the ath of april 1844 and airi vedin nauvoo ill april and andaas was driven from the state in 1844 went into missouri and stayed two years and then thee years in iowa she left iowa on the of may 1851 and arrived in salt lake city the of september and in oct esth of the same year where RU she e has lived tak u apt t to 0 the birge of her death which took place at 2 monday the of march 1887 she lacked beven dayson being 82 years of ace age her history may appear more tully lully at some future day with that of her husband may ebe she rett rest in peace till called forth in the morning odthe of the first resurrection |
