Show sa s1 3 LA excellently rendered at the union opera house in last saturday evening the third ward dramatic company produced the Opera house m this city owing to the memorial exercises and speeches took place at the fame time at lester park papillion pavillion Pa there wag not such a large audience to listen 7 to the play as would otherwise present yet the auditorium was and some of the roost beautiful and elegantly attired young ladies of Ogden were admirers of the tragedy and the laughable after piece which fol lowed the rendition of la fiam mina miss mattie Taylor distinguished herself by some charming bits of exquisite acting in the la Fiam mina the heroine of play her enunciation was rather too rapid for tragedy but it was nevertheless otherwise always natural and effective in the sec ond act where la Fiam mina and her SOD henri demurillo de H H thomas hold avery touching interview and also in the third act mi taylor made a decided hit and again in the death scene she brought tears into the eyes of many spectators throughout the play herbart her part admirably and won repeated applause miss lizzie stanford salie duchateau and miss ame lia stanford as countess of erni executed their respective iroles splendidly miss lilly chayton as madame duchateau was an entire mr H H goddard as acon de murillo could not have been rival led by an amateur actor mr IL H thomaas Th oraas as henri de was a well nigh perfect success mr T Y stanford as sylvian duchateau displayed a real comic genius mr W M purrington as lord dudly deemed by nature adopted tu the nobleman mr henry howard as monsieur duchateau could not have be been excelled mr T J rowley as jean moret seemed to his part exactly mr J R performed his roll properly the was a laughable lau gable furce nicely the great amuse of the audience prof Berk popular orchestra furnished delightful music for the occasion i the whole performance was a grand success and we bobo bopo that the company may be induced to repeat the performance in the near future the company deserve universal congratulation for their uniform merit 1 |
