Show 00 1 At the annual election of the Weber club, whicli was held last night, A, L. Brewer was selected to succeed A. R. Heywood, tho retiring oxecuthe. The meeting was largely attended and a profound interest was shown 1 in the affairs of the organization, F N. Driggs was elected vice president presi-dent for the ensuing year, and I, L. Reynolds was lc-elected secretary. The choice for treasurer was R. A Moyes. The three new directors chosen were W. H Wattis, H. M. Rowo and T. II. Carr In the retalnment of Secretary Reynolds, Rey-nolds, the members take that means' of showing their appreciation or the excellent services ho has lendered in the past During the general business meeting meet-ing which followed the election the club went on record as accepting the motion of C. R. Hollingsworth to amend the constitution so as to provide pro-vide for a 'nominating committee in the future. Settlement of Beet Question. The members also unanimously accepted ac-cepted the motion of 'Mayor Glasmann Glas-mann that the Weber club tender its good offices toward bring'ner about, an amicable adjustment of difficulties now existing between the Amalgamated Amalga-mated Sugar company and the beet growers of this and adjoining counties. coun-ties. It was the sense of the meeting that every aid possible should bo rendered rend-ered in bringing about a settlement. Vote to Outgoing Officers. Tho retiring officers of tho f were tendered a vote of thanks for their efficient and untiring efforts on behalf of tho organization during their term of office just closed. A feature of the meeting was the address made by tho retiring president, presi-dent, A. R. Heywood. lie reviewed in brief some of tho past history of the organization and offered somo suggestions wliicfi will doubtless prove of groat value during the coming com-ing year. Boost for New Clubhouse. Among other things Mr. Heywood sLited that the sentiment of the Weber We-ber club members should be to get, together and boost for the early com-, plotion of the new clubhouse, now in course of construction. He paid a high tribute to Mrs. Deo and family, whose benefaction in the matter of tho Deo Memorial hospital, he said, was ono of tho best things that hod ovor been accomplished for the city, of Ogden. Secured Lower Railroad Rates.
