Show DEATH OF A PIONEER, ASjED 87 ! John Manning, aged S7 years, one of the pioneer settlers of the Slater-vllle Slater-vllle district, passed aawy at 10:30 last night at the home of Alford Neal at Slatcryillc His death was duo to general debility.' Mr. Manning was born !May t), 1S23, in England. Ho was baptized Into the Mormon church in I80O by Simon Irwin Ir-win nnd came to the United States in March, 1S5C. He remained in the east until 1SC1, when ho came to Utah and shortly after this settled near Slatcrville. He was well known in Ogden and throughout this entire section of the state. The deceased is survived by three children, Willlnm Henry aud Emanuel J. Mannlngrand Mrs. Sarah Roylance, and by sixteen grandchildren. The funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock in tho Slatcrville meeting house with interment in-terment in tho Ogden City cemetery |
