A specla H from Basin, Wyo., says: ' Suspected -of murdering Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jenkins, whose dead H bodies wero found at their home on the ranch of Ex-Governor W. A. Rich- H ards near Red Bank, September 24, H E. T Peyton, a solicitor and corres- H pondeut for the Cheyenne Trlbuno H was captured at the Richards ranch. H and brought to Basin in an insano H condition and lodged in Jail-here today. H When Peyton appeared at thv; Rich- H ards ranch acting in a peculiar man- H ner he was uttering to himself tho H name "Edna' and making other ic- H marks which led suspicion to be cast H upon him as the person who killed H Mr and Mrs. Jenkins H Three or four days prior to tho H time that tho bodies 'of Mr. and Mrs H Jenkins were discovered Peyton was H seen in the vicinity of tho Rlcharls 'H ranch and when the Inquest was hold H he was present and sent a story of ) H the discovery of tbo bodies nnd the i H j Innuost to the Tribune. Last Tuesday ' H he was seen at Big Trail and Wcdnes- J jH j day he showed up at Lost Cabin, each ..H time acting in a peculiar manner and H disappearing soon after ho was scon, IH and it was thought that he had been jH roaming around the country in a do- ijH mented condition anil may have mur- l dered Mr and Mrs. Jenkins when he was in an insane condition.
