The music wb furnished by the high, school orchestra. J Principal J. O. Cross and Mrs. Cros and a number of the teachers, acted ns chaperones to the youthful assembly. There was a number of alumni present and a thoroughly en ' Joyabio evening was spent The enthusiasm en-thusiasm shown by those who attended at-tended speaks well for the success of the high school dunces to bo held lu j the future. Members of the Junior class were very much in evidence, at a meeting of the debating society held yesterday yester-day afternoon for the purpose of electing elect-ing officers. After the election of a temporary chairman, the Juniors placed plac-ed in nomination and elected respectively respec-tively to the positions of president, vice-president and secretary, the fol lowing members of their class; Earl Packard, Laura Johnson and Erma Davidson. Every effort will bo made by tho members of the society to win Again for the Ogden high school the debating trophy, a silver cup, which must be won by the rompetlng socle-tics socle-tics tbreo consecutive timea. The football squad, accompanied by Coach Brown, arrived at Logan lost night, at which placo they will play with tho Agfffes today. Due to the excellent showing made by the various vari-ous members of the tram during the many practices sine tho opening of school and the Improvement in team work over that of last season. Coach Brown feels confident ns to the outcome out-come of tho game. Although the average ave-rage weight of tho night school team Is 150 pounds Coach Brown and Captain Cap-tain Ctone predict that the greater speed of the high eohool squad, will more than offset the average weoght of the Agricultural toam, which Is 180 pounds. The line-up for today's game is as follows: Stone, left-half; Evans, right-half; Boyle, fullback: Moran, quarter; V. Smith, center; Anderson, right guard; C. Smith, left-guard; Sample, left-tackle; left-tackle; I. Crickctts. right tackle; Al leu, right-end and Wnittaker, left-end. J. Crickctts, Rcberg. Veasy and flavin fla-vin went as substitutes. The student body Is watching the outcome of tho game with keen Interest. Tho sophomore class held a meeting meet-ing in the early part of the week at which Darrel Green well, the newly appointed president, presided. The meeting was for the purpose of selecting se-lecting a class pin for tho out-going class, but due to a difference of opinion opin-ion a selection was not arrived at. |
