Show LUNCHEON AT THE WEBER LLIJ D . A. Q. Campbell, assistant engineer of the Oregon Short Line, who has just been promoted to assistant superintendent super-intendent of the Oregon Short Line, with hendquarters at Pocatello, Was tho guest of honor at a noon luncheon today given in the Weber club rooms by A R. I ley wood. Mr. Campbell was one of the most trusted and capable officials of the Harrlman lines ever stationed in this city and his piomotlon Is jio surprise to his friends and acquaintances. It was under his personal supervision thnt tho new Harrlman freight depot was constructed The many improvements improve-ments whiclr have been made on thc Ogden-Lucln cutoff have been completed com-pleted under his guidance Since his entrance into the local railroad engineering en-gineering seniec Mr. Campbell has been In charge Of many marked improvements im-provements in his paiticular field, which have bcnefite-l not only the railroads, but the city as well. It was In recognition, of the personal esteem in which the engineer Is hold by Mr. Heywood and others that tho luncheon was vlven. ' The luncheon party was made un of Messrs Heywood Hey-wood and Campbell, Chailes Hollings-worth, Hollings-worth, J. W 'Abbott, John S. Lewis, R E. Bristol and William Glasmann The sentiment expressed over the table was that while Mr, Campbell's friends are glad to lenrn of his pio-motion, pio-motion, they would much prefer to have him lecelve an advancement which would not have lauen him away from Ogden. |
