Show DAMDERGER ROAD IS" INSPECTED B TRE CITY OFFICIALS The city commissioners and the city engineer this forenoon made an inspection of the Bamberger roadway on Lincoln avenue, between Twenty sixth and Thirtieth streets, with a view to determining just how much the tracks must he lowered to conform con-form to the concrete grade on either side. After the inspection, the members of the board were non-committal as i to' what requirements would be made j of the Salt Lake & Ogden railway company respecting the grading of the roadbed, simply saying that the engineer would make a report to the commission in the near future and that the matter would then be con BiderAl more fully. Mr. Browning said that he thought the roadbed easily could be placed in good condition and that it would not inconvenience the electric car people much to furnish a good grade. It is said that on some parts of the thoroughfare, where it has recently i been paved, the roadbed and rails are considerably higher than the concrete surface. The Bamberger people say they will make their new concrete roadbed In September, when metallic ties are to be laid. |
