Show Oti HICKEY IS NOW IN CHARGE OF THE LOCAL SHOPS Master Mechanic David Hlckey of the Southern Pacific took charge of the local railroad shops and stores today, placing General Car Foreman T. I) Li Masters in charge of that department, de-partment, and Division Storekeeper H. H. Polk in charge of the .-tores. The Oregon Short Line officially relinquished control of the shops yea terday and A. C. Hinckley, sup tin tflkndent of motive power for the- Oregon Ore-gon Short Lino, ho represented that road In the transaction, returned to Salt Lake City last night. The Southern Pacific md of the big deal was bandied by General Superintendent Superintend-ent of Motive Power T. W Heintz-elman Heintz-elman of San Francisco; Superintendent Superintend-ent of Motive Power T. W Younger of Sacramento: Supt. T. F. Rowlands of the Salt Lake division of the Southern Pacific, of Ogden, and Master Mas-ter Mechanic Hickey. The two officials of-ficials from the coast remained over today to superintend the taking of an inventory of the property. They were scheduled to leave for the west this evening. Mr. Hickey is now installed in the office formerly occupied by Master Mechanic D; J. Malone and has charge of upwards of 30 men. His office force, together with that of Mr. Polk, is now finishing up the month's book work at the office in Sparks, Nevada, and is expected to report in Ogden for duty on July 5. The combined force numbers 14 and a corresponding number of those at present In the Ogden office will be released to the Oregon Short Line. oo |
