Show BIDS FOB ELECTRIC LIGHT! OF THE CITY OF OGDEN The city board of commissioners this morning accepted deeds from itobert Agee and wife and Emil Kel ler and wife to certain parcels of real estate, which will be used in tho opening of Fourteenth street extend ing west from Washington avenue. The report of street Supervisor C H Mnnin stated that during the month of August $3,453.20 was expended ex-pended on the Btreeto of the city. The bond of August Jensen for sidewalk paving in district No. 129 was approved and filed, The claim of the Ogden River Re- ervoir company, in the sum of :?27.33. j and that of August Jensen for extm work done on sidewalks in the sum j oT 510.01 were allowed, yrhe allowed claim of the Utah Pow I rr & Light company for lighting the city during the month of ugust was $1 543.44. Respecting the continued lighting of the city the recorder was instructed to advertise for bids The contract for street lighting will be for a perhid of three years. There are two electric elec-tric producing companies in Ogden the Utah Power & Light company ani the Utah Light & Railway company but the commissioners are wondering whether both companies will bid, as there is a proposed merger of the companies throughout the state. -The matter of purchasing Sunbeam Incandescent Mazda lamps from the Central Electric Supply company, was referred to the mayor with power to act A representative of the electric-company electric-company has communicated with the commissioners, quoting prices on the lamps. |
