Show WRECKED AUTO FED TO WILD HUMOHS DF DEATHS Evidences of an awful accident" were noted this morning by travelers along the county road at North () den who Haw a wrecked automobile near whore the Gus Wright accident of two weelis ago occurred A re port was circulated that an automobile automo-bile had turned turtle, killing three persons and mortally injuring another Sheriff De ine, when he got word early this morning, with two deputies hurried to North Ogden The sheriff was advised that some one driving the machine from the Lucas livery stable at about midnight last night met with an accident. The sherifl called at the stable and was informed that at about 12 o'clock Inst night George De West wns sent to the Hot Springs with a party in an automo bile. He made the trip to the springs safel) leaving the party there, and was on his way back when the machine ma-chine turned turtle in the roadway The chnuffeur was slightly bruised but not otherwise injured. De West states that something went wrong with the steering gear of the machine and he lost control. The bed was dane .ied and the wheels wrecked Sheriff De Vine states that a num her of complaints have come to him of late against fast driving on the North Ogden road and that he has decided to place an extra officer on the highway to look out for the speed ers. He does not say that Mr De West was speeding when his machine turned turtle and accepts his statement state-ment that he was not, but he states that he is going to patrol the road and offenders will be apprehended and presented oo |
