The fragmentary war news continues con-tinues favorable to the allies, except that which tells of the fall of Mau-beuge, Mau-beuge, the fortress which hag been besieged since the French and British Brit-ish troops fell back from the Belgium frontier. French official dispatches report the British driving a deeper wedge into the German left wing to the northeast of Paris and of the onward movement of the French in the center cen-ter between Fere Champenoise to Vltry. If this battle now on proves that the allies are strong enough to even seriously retard the German invasion of France, then Germany will begin to realize that the war threatens her future security, because Germany to ' win must overrun France and destroy j the French army within a very short time.
