Show PHYSICIANS NEGLECT TO II REPORTS OR! BIRTHS "Physicians are not giving sufficient suffici-ent attention to the report of births. It is going to be difficult to make an accurate statistical report at the end of the year, as required by law." That was the statement of George Shorten, city sanitiry commisionor, this morning. Tho official also declared de-clared that tho state audits would begin be-gin during early January and that ho would not be surprised if prosecutions result "Several births were discovered in one ward of the city that had not been reported," he continued. "Manifestly, this degree of carelessness cannot be tolerated. It would be absolutely impossible im-possible to obtain any accuracy for either the city, state or national government's gov-ernment's vital statistical reports. "It is an actual fact that we received re-ceived a report this week of a birth which should have been returned to this office last January a year ago. The state inspector will bo here during dur-ing the first of next month to check up on the reports. They will insist upon correct and comploto returns. Prosecutions will follow If the aws are disregarded. A federal official is also coming to Ogden to make Investigations."
