Show GOLDEN HI IS COMMEMORATED Salt Lake, May 5. Relatives and close friends of President Joseph P. Smith and Mrs. Julina Lamson Smith will gather tpday in the Beehive house to celebrate the fiftieth wedding anniversary an-niversary of the couple, married on May 5, 181G6. Invitations have been issued to 250 persons to attend a reception re-ception this evening, and during the afternoon President and Mrs. Smith will entertain all their grandchildren in honor of the event, there being thirtyseven in all. Members of the first presidency, of the council of apostles will be special spe-cial guests of honor at the reception tonight. The sons and daughters ot President and Mrs. Smith will be in the receiving line. They are Mercy J. Smith, Mrs. Alfred W. Peterson, Mrs. A. P. Kesler. Joseph F Smith, Mrs. Joseph S. Peery, E. Wesley Smith, Emily J. Smith, Mrs. A. Leroy Taylor, Edith E. Smith, Marjorie Smith and Edward A. Smith. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of Alfred Al-fred B. Lamson and Melissa Bigler, pioneers of 1847. Twelve children were born to President and Mrs. Smith, and all aro alive except thoj first child, who died at the age of 3 years. Mrs. Smith also has two adopted children. |
