Show prof OBITUARY H harris lynchburg va feb 4 prof H H harris of the louisville theological seminary died here this afternoon bev J A memphis feb 4 rev J A brooks a well known dicine of the christian and prohibitionist candidate for the vice presidency in 1888 is dead mrs margaret hosmer ladelphia feb 4 mrs margaret hosmer died suddenly of pneumonia yesterday at the home of her daughter mrs helen hosmer macdonald in this city mrs hosmer was at one time a prominent and political aru or of short stariea and a correspondent for san francisco newspapers she was born in this city december ast 1st 1830 and wae the daughter of thomas kerr when she was baill a gill her father went to california and there mis kerr met and married in hosmer who for the twenty five years previous to his death in 1890 was chief coiner in the philadelphia nevada and california mints in she produced the morri sone a book which although now almost forgotten wae well received at the time mrs hosmer wrote many other short edories also he was known on the pacific coast a correspondent from washington of thealka and golden era the latter of which she edited with bret hane for some time besides this she wrote several plays in 1882 she stopped her literary work and lived in this city john T pittsburg Pitts bur feba JohnT Kilgalon secretary of the amalgamated association of iron and steel workers since 1892 died today after a brief illness from brighte disease |
