Gibbona, Cashing- - Knocked l Wanamaker today directed the suspension of Mrs. Margaret Watson, a clerk in the Washington postoflice, for using offensive language towards a son of Senator Quay, of Pennsylvania. The story, as told, is that young Quay asked for his father s mail at the general delivery window, and Mrs. Watkins, turning around, asked where the senator's mail was. Some clerk, who hod been reading returns, facetiously replied, "In the dead letter office." Mrs. Watkins, according to her story, mechanically repeated the remark to young Quay, who turned away smiling. It appears, however, that the matter was reported to the postmaster genernl.
