On motion of Mr. Griffin Mr. Perkins' office was allowed 1200 additional funds to enable him to do the necessary city work. Mr. Ben E. Rich was allowed to address the Council to ask for the use of the City Hall for a meeting of the Home Building and Savings Society. The request was granted for next Thursday. A resolution of Judge Preshaw providing that all ordinances for the benefit of private parties be paid for by the persons benefitted, was adopted. E. Mr. Blasdel opposed taking such radical action in the absence of Mr. Chapman, the chief of the tire department. Mr. Corey thpught the Council has authority to handle tthe matter in the absence of the chief. Mr. Griffin thought no mistake had been made in letting out the hose cart man. Mr. Blasdel offered a resolution to the effect that the Council sit as as board of equalization on Friday evening, Oct-24tat 8 p. m., 1890, to hear complaints of taxers for opening Thirtieth street. Resolution adopted. Mr. Blasdel then offered a resolution to the effect that taxes for opening Thirtieth street be due Nov. 1, 1890, and delinquent Nov. 30, 1890. The resolution was adopted.
