The Miner, Oct.l.: Monday was rather a i ' ventful day for Rock Springs. The Jth of September was the date set for the organization of a military company and Capt. Frank A. Stitzer, of Cheyenne, was promptly on hand to perform that duty. The necessary clothing, to the number of 58 uniforms, had arrived and during the afternoon the boys, who had subscrilied their names to the organization, were completely outfit ted so that in the evening most of them presented themselvesifor muster in full uniform. W. H. Qdinn and Matsada Sorakichi arrived last) evening and are registered at the Comnierci.il Hotel. Mr. Quinn is a fine specimen of muscular manhood, standing six feet one inch in his stocking feet, measuring 44 inches around the chest, and weighing in condition 19) pounds. He is 'JO years old and is a Canadian by birth, although he has lieen in San r raneisoo Tor the past ten years. Thrown From a Dug-y- . Little Francis, the son of Lawyer Tanner, was driving a small pony at tached to a cart yesterday evening along t street the horse became firightened and wheeling suddenly around threw the boy out, his head and shoulders striking heavily uion the ground. He was taken to the residence of Dr. Powers near bv where it was found that there was a severe gash in his head and that his body was severely bruised. The doctor dressed the wounds and the little fellow-wasent home. Last night he was resting comfortably. s the Public, As announced through the public prints some months ago, this company, recog- nizing the difficulties attending the operation of their plant at certain seasons of the year in Ogden canon, concluded to erect, near the center of the city, a new steam plant, so as to be able at all times to furnish the safest electric light of a superior quality; and to this end, after the most careful and painstaking investigation of the various systems in use, is erecting a steam power house in this city and will very soon furnish our customers and the public with the incomparable Thompson-Houstosystem, at prices as low as that asked for inferior service. The public are respectf ully requested to defer making contracts with any parties, until our new system is in operation, the construction of which is being rapidly prosecuted. Rcspectfuly, Ogden City Electric Light Company. Brontrht a Wife Home. Yesterday Mr. Frank McGaw, the amiable Union Pacific freight solicitor, returned from Oakland, Cal'., where he for nearly a month. He surhos prised many of his friends by bringing Mrs. MiKiaw home with him, the nuptials having lieen celebrated at Oakland on the .'VI ultimo. Mrs. Met law's maiden name was Miss Lillie Keilinger.
