Show Clarkston Man Dies After Short Illness James Beveridge Jardine, 81, prominent resident of Clarkston for about 55 years, died Thursday at a Logan hospital at about 4 a.m. after a long illne. s. He had been in the hospital for three weeks. He leaves 67 descendants. Mr. Jardine was born in Wells-ville Wells-ville on December 6, 1860, a son of John and Agnes. Beveridge Jur-dine. Jur-dine. He married Annie Heggie in the Logan temple on September 17. 1884. A prominent Cache Valley farmer farm-er throughout his adult life, Mr. Jardine was a high priest m the Smithfield stake. He served as bishop of the Trenton ward from 1884 to 1887 and fulfilled a mission mis-sion to Scotland from 1889 to 1891. In 1916 he filled ia short term mission mis-sion to California. Survivors include his widow nine sons and daughters, James H., Andrew H., and John S. Jardine Jar-dine Mrs. Annie J. Thompson, Mrs.' Lottie J. Buttars, Mrs. Peru J. Thompson of Clarkston; Mrs. Agnes J. Buttars of Cornish, Mrs. Electa Griffin of Rexburg, Idaho and LaRue Jardine of Trenton; 45 grandchildren, four of whom are serving on L. D. S. missions and one in the armed forces and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted conduct-ed Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Clarkston ward chapel. Burial will, be in the Clarkston cemetery under direction of the Lindquist and Sons mortuary. |
