Other additions to this picture, in which Norma Shearer and Robert Taylor will be co-starred, are Albert and Elsa Bassermann. The photoplay photo-play is based on Ethel Vance's best-selling best-selling novel of the same name. "Soapy Smith," story of a colorful color-ful confidence man of the Colorado boom days, is to be produced by Pandro Berman as a Clark GaBle vehicle for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It is based on the book, "The Reign of Soapy Smith," by William Ross Collier and Edwin Victor Westrate. - Ann Lee Whitmore and Tom Sellers have been assigned to prepare the picture adaptation. Gable is currently cur-rently appearing in "Strange Cargo," in which Joan Crawford is . co-starred. His latest M-G-M production pro-duction is "Boom Town," now near-ing near-ing completion at Culver City with Spencer Tracy, Claudette Colbert, and Hedy Lamarr in other starring parts. "One Came Home" has been placed in production at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios, with Robert Rob-ert Young and Maureen O'Sullivan playing the romantic leads.
