But this year, an added extra is the "Greatest Show on Earth" when the Snowpig quits his clowning around and decides to run away and join the fun of the Park City Circus. That's right folks it's showtime Saturday, Snow-vember Snow-vember 20 at 7:30 p.m. for the annual winter kick-off, the Snowflakers Ball. The Big Top will be set up at the Snow Park Lodge in Deer Valley, ready for all you clowns, from midgets to trapeze artists. WHAT TO WEAR: The Snowpig has already organized organ-ized the Piglettes into a lion-taming act. And his cousins will appear as the Flying Snowpiginnies. You'll see lion tamers and giraffes, poodle acts and clowns. According to the Ringleader-Master Ringleader-Master of Ceremonies-Head Snowpig, any circus garb will be accepted at the Park City Circus costume party. WHAT TO EAT: Gluttony is a favorite word for the Snowpig who munches down on popcorn fresh from the vendors at the Snowflakers Ball. Harold Nilsson of Zion Lutheran Church, Salt Lake City, will exchange pulpits with the Rev. David Krueger of Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church, Park City, for the regular worship services of those congregations, next Sunday, Nov. 14 Pastor Nilsson was one of the central figures in the creation of a Lutheran congregation con-gregation in Park City, having been instrumental in bringing together a number of Park City parishoners of Zion Lutheran and Our Savior's Lutheran Church, McComb, Alvarez to discuss issues in education Public schools, and how we should pay for them, have been the source of heated controversy in recent months. On Thursday, Nov. 18, the League of Women Voters meeting will offer the public a chance to unravel these complex issues and share views on them. The meeting, at 8 p.m. in the Park City Library, will feature School Board President Nancy McComb and City Councilwoman Helen Alvarez, who will discuss local issues in education. The kinds of questions expected to be addressed at the meeting include: Should property tax assessments be raised to current market levels of property or should property taxes be reduced and what do these mean for schools? What criteria should be included in the definition of "quality education?" Should we build new schools or use other alternatives? The general public, as well as League of Women Voters members, is invited to review these issues vital to our communities and our pocketbooks.
