Show Thursday, June 14, 1979 Page 10 4 Mail Service Starts July 1 Council Approves Indemnification Residents in Park Meadows, Holiday Ranch, and Prospector Village are reminded that beginning July 1, 1979, rural carrier delivery service will be initiated in these areas. This service provides for delivery of all ordinary mail, and when requested delivery of parcel post, Registered Mail, Certified Mail, Insured Mail, and COD. Mail. Postal Customers may also purchase pur-chase stamps through their carrier. Postmaster Bryon Johnson John-son stated that one of the primary reasons for extension exten-sion of this service is to alleviate the acute shortage of available Post Office Boxes. He said that out of a total of 2134 Post Office Boxes 2100 are currently rented and the remaining 34 will be during the next few weeks. It is hoped that the voluntary relinquishing of Post Office Boxes by residents in new development develop-ment areas will allow the Post Office to meet the needs of residents moving into the older sections of Park City. KAC Auditions Next Week The City Council last Thursday night approved the idemnification of the 11 present and former members mem-bers of the council against damages arising from a $450,000 law suit brought by the Salt Lake Transporation Company. The law suit charges that the Park City officials were conspiring to not appropriate ap-propriate funds to pay for a contract between the transportation trans-portation company and Park City, voiding the contract, con-tract, and developing a publicly owned bus service. City attorney Mike McCoy commented that the defense and payment of judgement for city officials is provided for by law, adding, "I think thev have absolute immunity." Park City commissioned the Salt Lake Transporation Company in 1976 to operate a municipal bus system for three years at $52,265 annually an-nually with five percent increases in-creases in the second and third years. The contract was voided in February when District , Court Judge Dean Conder ruled it unconstitutional uncon-stitutional and contrary to state law. "The contract was illegal from the start because it was never validated by an appropriation," McCoy said. "I don't know whether the suit will be summarily dismissed or whether evidence will be heard, but I'm confident it will be dismissed." Don Gomes, Director of the Park City Players' presentation of the comedy Romanoff and Juliet', said that auditions will be slated for Monday and Tuesday, June 18 and 19, for the comedy which is planned for mid August on the Kimball Art Center patio. Auditions will be held at the Art Center Cen-ter at 7:30 p.m. each evening. A cast of 9 men and at least 4 women will be selected for the play. 'Romanoff and Juliet' is a delightful comedy satire about a mythical country that is so small it has a standing army of two. The country is located between the East and the West. Thus, each of these major world divisions wants the tiny country as an ally. Diplomats are dispatched from the East and West, and a delightfully crazy comedy ensues as the son and daughter of each diplomat fall in love. Thus, the title, Romanoff and Juliet, after the young couple. For information on aud-tions, aud-tions, call the Kimball Art Center at 649-8882, Monday-Saturday, Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. -6 p.m.; Sunday, noon-6 p.m. TRIVIA TE8T This week Jay Williams was the first to remember Eddie Cochran, Chuck Connors and Paul Clough as the correct answers to last week's Trivia Test.
