Checks with federal, state and local law enforcement officials has turned up no confirmation of the arrests or any clues as to the identities of the'"agents." Announcement . On June 3, Lund startled the city council and those attending the council meeting by announcing that a major crackdown on narcotic and liquor violators in Park City was about to begin. Included in the list of explanations ex-planations underlying the overwhelming "ho" vote were apathy on the part of, pro-bond voters, substantial opposition from the Summit Park area, apprehension on the part of long-time Park City . residents over service rate increases, the opposition of the Park City Lodging Association, fear of increased taxes and economic burden, a reluctance on the part of Park . City voters to provide what they felt to be financing of . development in the Snyderville area over which they" would have no control, the theory that Park City could expand its existing plant at less expense and the feeling that alternatives had not been adequately explored. ex-plored. ..f i District engineer Larry Bledsole presented the board with a list of available alternatives which ranged from attempting to pass the same exact bond issue'to dta- - banding the district. ; Bledsole reported he had been in " contact with Pat : Crotty and Jay Pitkins of the Environmental . Protection Agency and . that the two officials said it would take another defeat of a bond election before they would be convinced that the voters , were opposed to the project. If another bond election failed the EPA officials said they would investigate Park City's needs but stressed that they are still opposed to a proliferation of small treatment plants as com pared to the regional concept, con-cept, according to Bledsole. The board decided that Bledsole should compile the facts and figures in regards to a Park City plant expansion ex-pansion versus the regional plant. After reviewing the comparative statistics, the board will then determine what course of action it will take. Previous to the sewer board meeting, the Park City Council received an opinion from City Attorney Carl Nemelka which indicated the city could legally separate itself from the Snyderville District if it so desired.
