CORNER Police Bulletin Board Officers of the Park City Police Department' have noticed, that with the decrease in snow-packed snow-packed roadway conditions, the vehicular speeds on our streets has greatly increased. We would like to remind our driving citizens that, in the absence of speed regulation signs, the following State restrictions shall amlv. 41-6-46 (2) Sections A & B "Quote, UCCA" A. Twenty Miles per hour. "When passing a school building or the grounds thereof during school recess or while children are going to or leaving school during opening or closing hours; provided, that local authorities may require a complete stop before passing a school building or grounds at any of the said periods." We feel special attention should be paid to the posted 20 mph speed limit on Marsac Avenue due to the presence of our elementary school. It should be noted this is a posted area and the above time restrictions (recess, etc.) do not apply. , B. "Twenty-five miles per hour in any business or residential area." (UCCA) We would like to point out that the majority of our streets fall within this 25 mile per hour bracket, unless they are otherwise posted. We strongly urge that a speed considerably less than this 25 mph maximum be used orr these sometimes dark and narrow side streets. We would also like to suggest that an extremely slow rate of speed be used when approaching all of our uncontrolled intersections. In a closing note, we would like to bring to your attention the presence of some new parking restrictions along Park Avenue. (Heber Ave. to the Park City Junction) there will be no parking allowed on the west side of Park Ave. from 8 a.m: to 8 p.m . There will be no parking on the east side from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. These new restriction are badly needed and We hope will not be too imposing. im-posing. T- We are at your service. Sgt. Le secret uses many ot the devices Hitchcock often used to near perfection, per-fection, and does it with the same flair and success that Hitchcock brought to his works. The French suspense films are more political, yet the politics are a sideline to the main plot of the film, so the flick never becomes a heavy handed political expose. Le Secret reaffirms the cinema as an international language. One of Hitchcock's devices is to introduce an ambiguous situation upon which the entire plot is hinged. In Le Secret, a stranger excapes from an insane asylum claiming he has found out a horrible secret. He claims he cannot divulge the secret to the couple that is harboring him, since the government would kill them should it find out that they too kno'w. With the plot device constructed so loosely, the plot now has plenty of room to twist and turn. The government claims a paranoid psychotic has escaped from an asylum. They claim that the man is rational until he feels threatened, then he is capable of murder. The stranger explains that the government must fabricate these stories so that they will be able to conduct a massive l l e l : mi i j:rr niaiiiium iui iiiiii . iiic tuujic icatia umci chuj , adding further twists to the plot. ine enaing oi a nitcncocK mm always reveais wv uuui) uitiiuugii mil cu uiicu viiuuoca iu leave some ambiguity remaining at the, finale. Le secret snows wno is lying, dui one question is not resolved at the end of the film. It is not nec-cessary nec-cessary to know that which is left unsaid, but it does make the audience a little unsettled as it leaves the theater. Le Secret owes one more debt to Hitchcock. Alfred Hitchcock kept his films from being too demanding by lacing them with his own special brand of humor. Le Secret, which is predominantly a heavy psychological drama, is well-balanced by the humor sprinkled throughout the film. Indeed, it is not a pie in the face type of humor, but a subtle, well-timed joke that provides relief from the' drama of the film. Jean Louis Trintignant and Marlene Jobert gave fantastic performances as the couple who played the stranger with just enough' mystery to keep the audience enveloped in intreigue. It is doubtful that Robert Enrico, the director of Le Secret, would be angered at the comparison com-parison to Hitchcock. Hitchcock is the master of suspense, and his film devices have been analyzed by thousands of film freaks. It is not as sin to use someone else's devices if one is able to do it well. Robert Enrico's Le Secret ranks with many of Hitchchck's finer works, and shows that suspense and mystery have no political boun-dries. J1 p f If I w 1 ' " 0 '"7 if A ll . ' 17 0 ' . The logo should reduce or enlarge to any size without losing line quality. Presentations should include examples of possible variations'on a basic theme and should be submitted to the Chamber office by April 22, 1976.
