saturday saturdays 1 I 0 0 F and rebekah reunion and picnic pleno in this city and while there have been larger gatherings in price on a few occasions it is doubtful if a lodge picnic ever drew so many people from the other towns and camps to the county seat and all who came were taken care of at no expense to themselves save their deals meals and conveyance to this city while merchandise worth sey ser eral hundred dollars was given away as prizes in mental and athletic ath letio con tests including the 1 I 0 00 0 P F base ball game no admission fee wits charged to the grounds or any of the contests that feature left a good taste in the mouths of the visitors and nd many of them were heard to express the wish that they might have as good a time every yea year the three linkers and their guests began coining coming in in wagons buggies and autos shortly after 7 a in and at 9 30 when the epenial train from standardville Stand standard ardville ville storrs castle gate lad helper arrived there was a good sized gathering of visitors to welcome them the train brought in the neighborhood of a hundred most of them odd fellows Rebe kahs abs and their children the train by the price wice band members of the reception C committee ommittee and several drays the latter for the purpose of taking care of the lunch and luggage of the excursion ten ests the storrs band headed the lie was not in the class with the carbon emery league games it was more fun one team was composed almost wholly of storrs odd fellows under the leadership of nels olson and cliff russell took a few miller creek rubes a few price has beens and one or two play eia ets from other carbon county lodges and won by a score of 8 to 14 captain russell won the prizes for the first home run the first base bise hit and the first stolen base after the ball game the picnickers came down town and got supper bome out of their baskets at the restroom and others at the various hotels and restaurants quite a number attended the movie show in the evening and later joined those who had already gathered at city hall for the dance and it was some dance I 1 more than a hundred tickets were taken up at the door and the floor was at times demost too crowded for enjoyable dancing but nobody to mind that for every member of every lodge in the county bad had been hoping for a good big crowd aud they were having
