This means that adjustments in processing must be made. With the boiling water bath method, three lbs. pressure should be made. Assuming your pressure gauge measures correctly, it is a simple process of increasing IQ lbs. to 13 lbs., or 15 lbs. to 18 : lbs. It is my experience, however that it is more the exception than the rule that a pressure gauge measures correctly. Cox was not at that session nor at any other of the public sessions held to discuss the project. of the $312,000 not Approval interest loan for Mona will now be delayed until the state board learns of the election results. The town will most likely have to return $23,500 in grant money approved by the Six County Commissioners Organization and $26,000 in community impact grant money if the proposal does not pass, since both grants were given the community to assist in the towns culinary water system, Lynn said. We have also learned that shortly after our Board of Water Resources loan was approved, which provides the town with 100 percent of the money requested, the board made stricter requirements which will in the future require that those who get nointerest loans put up approximately 25 percent of the money they need, said Lynn. If Mona does not get this approval, it would need to raise from $75,000 to $80,000 on the same request another time, the mayor said. Mona officials have research ed the proposed project since September, and have heard approximately eight proposals from three engineering firms. The town later contracted with Sunrise Engineering of Fillmore for their services. Officials then held three public hearings. The first meeting attracted approximately 28 residents and officials, and only one dissenting opinion was noted. The second public hearing brought no one out, so a third opportunity was advertised, since the officials wished to give the residents the opportunity to ask questions. The third hearing brought a response from a group of citizens who were more concerned about proper meter reading than the new system, and in response to a question as to whether they approved the culinary water projec or not, there was no negative comment made. st Questionaires were then sent to 160 households asking for a response in writing. Twenty-fiv- e forms were returned. Of those 25 returned, 11 had negative responses. One of the forms returned with a negative response was sent special delivery to the board by William Cox. Based on that response and on the public comment received, Mona officials then hired assist with the project. The board also agreed to purchase .89 acres of land from Max Molyneaux for $1780 for the tank site, and they acquired all for new but one pipelines. Whether the election passes or not, we as a town are now obligated for between $20,000 and $30,000 in money for these contracts, said Lynn. We also still have a mandate from the State Board of Health to improve our culinary system or to receive a disapproved rating that will cut off all state and federal loans, the mayor said. Such loans would be both to the town itself and to anyone applying for building loans, etc. In conservations held between Mayor Lynn and Larry Anderson of the State Board of Water Resources, Anderson said the petitions cast doubt on the public approval and said, We want to be sure the people ' want it. town clerk to According were 102 there Craig Sperry, names on the petition. A public hearing will be held prior to the election in Septemd ber, either in the Mona LDS Ward church, or at the new elementary school. Lynn hopes all Mona residents will attend the meeting. We would like the chance to explain the facts clearly to everyone rather than have them listen to those who are against it. We would like the chance to ' hold a fair discussion and to explain the advantages we feel are there, and then let Mona residents make their decision, Lynn said.
