The first session dealt with goals. "We all have goals; but until we recognize what they are, we very likely wont meet them. said Dr. Rose. Participants were then given a plan whereby they could develop their goals and put them into priority. The second session covered assessing one's present financial situation. Here the keynote was realism, extension service personnel say. Unless we can be realistic about what income we have and where it is going, there is no way we can improve our financial situation," said Dr. Rose. He indicated that assessing ones financial situation was the most painful part of the workshop, but youll be awfully glad you did it when its all done" he promised. Participants also learned how to assess their credit limitations and to shop for credit. In the third session, participants were given guidelines for reaching goals under their present financial circumstances. Jean Poffenroth, Extension Home Economist for Juab County, gave information on reducing grocery costs while maintaining optimum nutrition. Dr. Rose instructed workshop members in how to assess the income of the family in case of the death of the breadwinner. This helped each family to decide their insurance needs, participants said. developed a conservation plan that has enabled him to put his land back into shape.
