The laboratory also had a trial or two, for it fell to them to compound a cement or cements that would serve as a tie of the rubber to the metal tanks. After some study and work in experiments, they turned up with a good product to do this job. If you don't think it will stick, just come around to the department and we'll paint you up a bit and see how effective you are at geeting it off. In order that we can get a clean, workable surface for the application of the cement and rubber, it is necessary that the complete surface be sandlasted. Th first job that was done, was done away from the plant, at Salt Lake Here a large tank was City. covered for the Eimco Company and many a problem presented itself before the job was complete. that weie Many are the hours spent in an effort to devise some of means correcting faults caused by various things. Some of the problems encountered are: First, figuring out materials to use to get the best sesult; second, preparation of these materials: third figuring how to apply materials to the tank for best results; and fourth, knowing the use the tank is going to be put to so as to know what materials to use to get the best results for the customer. Then comes the curing of the green rubber which can and docs present some problems. In order that this job might be carried on, many new pieces of equipment have had to be purchased. Just to mention a few, Arthur the sandblaster is one. Tanner is the operator of it, so it you care to know more about it, just ask him. Another piece of equipment purchased is the one shown in the above picture, an which has been army converted into a crane to move the large and heavy pieces of to be lined. II the bond issue is passed by the! voters, all voluntary contributions received will then be available to be returned to the contributors. If the bond issue is not passed, only a portion of the contributions will be available for refund.
