The contract Is based on a minimum price of 15.00 per ton for beets with a sliding scale figured on the price of sugar and the sugar content in the beets. It is by far the fairest contract the beet grower has had. With sugar at $5.50 and sugar content 17 per cent the grower will receive $6.58 pe ton for his beets and with sugar at 36.00 he will &et 37.17 for beets. The sugar market Is growing stron-ge- r ' every day and the outlook is very favorable for $5.50 to $7.00 sugar. This will assure the farmer from $6.00 to $8.00 per ton for his beets. With such a prospect the farmers of Juab County should consider very seriously the planting of a few acres of beets in his cropping system for more reasons than one. In the first place it will be a cash crop and go a long ways of meeting some of the cash expenses in the fall. It will give the children employment during the school vacation at a renumeratlve , it lit."- vSftKt wage, and It will do much to keep seathe blade broke, thesugar Industry In a thriving conforcing peller down. dition, which is of great Importance plane The craft landed within a mile or to the agriculture of this state. a fishing boat, but, caught in the It would be a serious calamity to -gulf stream, it was carried north, 1 have the sugar industry succumb to signals for help being unheeded.
