By Pastor Keith E. South First Baptist Church The first verse of our text reads, "The fool hath said in his heart. There is no God. they art corrupt, they have done f abominable works, there in none that doeth good." God, in all of I His wisdom and knowledge, summed up atheism with one word, fool. How foolish it is to say there is no God. God gives the action of the atheist as follows: first, they are corrupt; next, they do abominable works; and third, non of them do good. There are people that challenge me and what the Bible says all the time. They refuse to believe what the Bible sas because if they do, it will mean that there is a God and they are not Him and are under His authority. When D. L. Moody was conducting evangelistic meetings across the country, he frequently found hecklers who were in rather violent disagreement with the Bibles message. In a final service of one of his meeting, an usher handed the famous evangelist a COPY I note as he entered the auditorium. Thinking it was an announcement. Moody quieted the large audience and prepared to read the notice. He opened it to find one word, Fool!" However, the colorful Moody was equal to the task. This is most unusual," he said. T have just been handed a message which consists of one word, fool. I repeat, this is most unusuaL I have often heard of those who have written letters and forgot to sign them, but this is the first time I have received a signature with no letter. Poor soul, signed his name but forgot to write the note. It is said that Moody quietly changed his text that night to Psalm 14:1. Certainly, Mr. Moody had the perfect answer. There are many today that will not believe what the Bi- -, ble has to say. They try and cast doubt on it and say that man has corrupted it. Remember, God never made a promise that was too good to be true and He promised us He would preserve His magnificent Word even after Heaven and Earth passed away.
