They were married August 31,1938, at the Wee Kirk of the Heather Church in Glendale, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on April 24, 1956. They served in the LDS Church Extraction Program for 14 years. They were also Ward and Stake Dance Directors. Bernice was born in Manti and spent her young years there. Tien moved to California where she met Don and married. She is an excellent cook. The family always looks forward to enjoying her special meals. She and her sister; Leila, make the best pie. As a young boy, living in Flint, Michigan, he once played a trumpet in a band led by John Philip Sousa. Their children are Jean (Lee) Fowkes, Robert (Pat), Michael (Carolyn), and Dale (Gay) Royce.
