On the farm this cash outlay will not be necessary, since the farm business can well produce a large portion of the years food supply. One big cost of food can be cut down by a year round garden. There are those who argue that it is more expensive to do home canning than to buy commercially canned products. From the standpoint of time, labor and fuel that may be true, but If the fruits and vegetables and canned or stored or drid and In the cellar, those two servings of fruits and three of vegetables are more apt to get into the family diet each day. Then, if a provision has been made for the preserving of part of the years meat supply, a more even distribution of protein will be made. The farm home can be equipped with storage facilities for all foods which can be stored and for drying and curing foods which can be preserved successfully that way. After that has been done there still remains those fruits and vegetables and meats which can only be preserved through canning. Council For Child The Juab County Council for Child Health and Protection was at the organized last - Thursday with Juab County Courthouse, County Commissioner A. V. Gadd of Nephi, Chairman and Miss Thelma Warner of Nephi, Secretary-Treasure- r. The purpose of the council was discussed by Dr .Garland Price of Salt Lake City, a member of the executive committee Pace of the Utah Council. Dr. Stated that Utah was one of the three states in the United States without a public organization of this type, and suggested that these organizations in the various counties be perfected before fall.
