Friday Evening County Offices Continue Veeks Events Successful Convention Held Here Saturday by Nebo First District Club Women Saturday Evening Approximately 40 members of the L. D. S. Church at Reno, Nevada, comprising the well known Sierra Singers will be in Nephi Saturday evening to present their only Central Utah concert. The concert will be held at the new Juab Stake-Thir- d Ward hall and will begin at 7:30 p.m. Ticket committee members have been contacting homes all over the stake during the past several days, and a huge crowd is expected. However, there is ample seating for all who would desire to attend, and all are urged and invited to avail themselves of this opportunity to hear this outstanding musical group. The chorus is directed by Ladd R. D. S. Institue of Relig- ion. Singers have ben widely acclaimed. They sing a variety of music from master to patriotic, humorous, sacred and popular music. In addition to the chorus numbers, the Men of Renote semi-classic- quartet featuring Brent Ab- bott, Reed Roberts, Gavin Holloman and Ladd Cropper will present several numbers. Mrs. May G. Cropper is accompanist for the chorus and quartet. Among the former Nephites who will be making the trip here will be William H. Gar- Can-Ca- O A highlight of their career was presentation of several numbers before an audience of 10,000 at the LDS Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. This was in conjunction with a confernece held at that time In April of 1959 the chorus presented a concert in Los Angeles, and then traveled on to San Diego as a featured chorus in the National Biennial Music Convention of the Federation cf Music Clubs. Curtis James of the Vardaman Baptist Church at Vardaman, Mississippi has been assigned to assist here during the coming simultaneous revival campaign in Utah. Dr. W. E. Greene has been assigned to Nephi, and is now moving his trailer house to the recently acquired Baptist property to help accomodate all concerned. Baptist leaders are holding weekly Bible classes in the Pastorium, and as soon as the Nephi Third Ward vacates the chapel proper, the services will be held there. The simultaneous revival will be held all over the area during the period from Wednesday, April 20th until May 1st.
