Does Every Town Do IU Share? It is the reasonable expectation of citizens that local governments shall so conduct their civic and business affairs that all the people may have full opiwrtunity to work and prosper in all useful and legitimate vocations, but opixrtunity and prosperity do not always connect when a town does not do its part. There is not a city or town which is not capable of furnishing plenty of work for its unemployed if they will make a survey of the necessary improvements that can and should be done by those in a position to do so. Every town can extend its street paving, sewerage system, sidewalk building, Improvement of public parks, extensions of its electric light, gas and telephone systems, repairing public buildings, etc. Building owners and business people can make maintenance repairs on their homes and business properties, such as necessary carpenter work, painting, new roof, overhauling of heating plants and plumbing, checking electrical work, clean, repair and replace fittings and furniture in homes. In doing all this, business people will aid themselves by relieving unemployment and stimulating their own business. Assures Success Is essential To start a movement of this kind and necessary. There are three men in every town who can and should sponsor such a movement. They are the president of the merchant's business organization, the president of the leading bank, and the newspaper publisher. Their influence of other citizens. will be sufficient to enlist the If every town will organize such a campaign, general local conditions will almost immediately show a welcome business and social improvement. This is good and sound advice. Try it out and see how well it works. Securities Simply As An and Manager By THOMAS J.
