Stopped Q till T01IO The Nophl baseball team', winners of the haa entered the state amateurleague base-- y tournament to be held In Salt Jtjr September 6, 7. and 8, It y was announced thij week by the local baseball officials. The boys are practicing every night, and will have a strong aggregation to enter the tournament. The players who will go lrom Nephi will be: Ole Boswell and Paul Christl-sopitchers, Mont Sperry, catcher, Dr. P. L. Jones, first base, Eugene Worthlngton, second base, Leland Belllston, and Rodger Lunt, short stop. It u Ion Cowan, third baBe, Cliff Reese, I. M. Petty, Grant Sperry, Alonzo Boswell outfielders, with Starr and Painter as utility players. Another pitcher will be selected to play with the Nephi team, but definite arrangements have not been made as to who the local club will secure. The lineup for the itournamerit from outside of Salt Lake City will be: Provo, Logan, Tooele, Nephi, Hinckley, and Layton. Walker Bank, last year's state champions, undoubtedly will enter from Salt Lake. It Is reported that one team will be selected from the following Salt Lake clubs, Eastern Hatters, Utah Radio, Western Opts, and Utah Light and Traction. Tailoring ci'-- Iron Mine Inspected By Salt Lake Man Le Roy A. Wilson; general man of the General Steam Corpora tion of Salt Lake City was in Nephi ager Wednesday and inspected the iron mine in the Gilson mountain, which belongs to the Black Jack Mining Company, and was very favorably impressed with the large deposit of iron ore found there. H. D. Golds-broureports that several members of the board of directors are going into Salt Lake City Friday with the possibility of selling the mine to the Salt Lake concern. The , visiting engineer was very enthusiastic over the outlook for a large Iron ore mine in the Gilson Monntain. In addition to Mr. Goldsbrough, Gideon Sidwell and W. G. Orme will make a trip to Salt Lake Friday. gh pro-dusi- ng Fly Extermination Move Is Meeting With Real Success A movement is actively under way to exterminate the flies in this community. The campaign is sponsored by the Juab Stake Relief Society and a committee consisting of Mrs. Itha B. Parkes and Mrs. Ethel C. Gadd has taken the responsibility of having fly traps of an effective type made and sold to the citizens cost of labor and maat a terial. With the assistance of the Boy Scouts, a number of these traps have been constructed and It Is planned to' have a sufficient number to supply all the homes of this city.
