Section 3975, C. L. U., 1917. No person BADGE. Sec. 13. shall use or operate a motor vehicle as chauffeur upon the streets of Nephi City without having obtained from the secretary of state of the State of Utah, a badge, as provided by the laws of Utah, which badge shall be worn by such person pinned to his clothing in a conspicioua place at all times while he is operating such vehicle, and no such person shall voluntarily or otherwise permit any person to wear said badge; nor shall any person while operating said vehicle wear any such badge belonging to another person or wear fictitious badge. Section 3981, C. L. U., 1917. Sec. 14. NAME OF DRIVER. Every person engaged in the busi ness of renting or hiring out motor vehicles except motorcycles, and em ploying drivers or chauffeurs to operate such vehicles, shall keep a record containing the name, address and age of each driver or chauffeur in his employ, which record shall be shown any police officer upon de mand. Every person lending his motor vehicle shall keep a record of the name, age and address of the person to whom loaned and furnish the same on demand to a police officer. STOPPING AT CURB AND No AT INTERSECTIONS. person shall, unless in an emergency, or to allow another vehicle, or a pedestrian to pass, park any vehicle in front of any street or alley of this city, nor at any other place in any street in the congested district, except as near the right hand gutter as possible, nor nearer than 75 feet of the crosswalk of a street intersection where safety zone standards Sec. 15. are maintained, nor nearer the crosswalk of any other intersection than 30 feet, nor at any other place In said congested district where safety zones are established. No person shall drive, ride or pro pel any vehicle to the left of any safety zone standard or standards where such standards are maintained on the street. Persons desiring to discharge or take on merchandise or passengers on the left side of the street shall cross over by making a complete turn and stopping at the curb on the rlcht as provided in this ordinance. The drivers of all vehicles when desiring to turn from one street Into another from the right to the left, shall cross to the further side of the intersection before making such turn. The City Marshal, by and with the consent and approval of the city council, shall have the power at any time to make such other regulations governing the parking of vehicles on any of the streets, avenues or alleys of this city, or any other space which may be owned or leased by the city, as may, In its Judgment be necessary or desirable. SLOW MOVING VE HICLE AND BICYCLES CLOSE TO GUTTER. Every person driving a slow moving or heavily loaded ve hicle, and riders of . bicycles, shall keep close to the right rand gutter, allowing more swiftly moving vehicles to pass on the left. Sec. 23. TURNING FROM ONE STREET INTO ANOTHER. Every person In charge of any vehicle when turning to the right from one street in this city into another, shall turn as near the right rand gutter as practicaDie, and ln turning to the left into another street, shall keep to the right of the center of the in tersection of the two streets. Sec. 24. DRIVING FROM ALLEY'S. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle out of an alley into a public thoroughfare without first bringing such vehicle to a complete stop within 15 feet of the sidewalk, and giving a signal with a ben or horn. Sec. 25. RIGHT OF WAY VE HICLES. Except as herein otherwise provided, every driver of a vehicle approaching an Intersection of a street, shall grant the right of way at such intersection to any other vehicle approaching from his rieht. a traffic provided, that whenever officer is stationed at any intersec tion, ne shall have full nower to regulate the traffic. Sec. 26. SIGNALLING WHRNi ABOUT TO STOP., TURN OR BACK. No person in charge of a vehicle shall pasa or attempt to pass another vehicle traveling in the same direction upon any Intersection in the con- gested district. Sec. 28. MIRROR. No person shall drive on any street or avenue of this city a vehicle that is so enclosed as to prevent the person in charge from having a complete view of the traffic at the rear and sides of such vehicle, unless there Is attached to such vehicle a mirror so that the person In charge is able to see therein the reflection street or avenue one hundred offeetthe in the rear of such vehicle. Sec. 29. CARE IN DRIVING-- . INTOXICATED DRIVER, it shall be unlawful for any person while under the Influence of Intoxicating liquor to drive, ride, propel, or have charge of any animal, or vehicle, upon any street of this city. Sec. 42. PEDESTRIANS, RIG.IT OF WAY. OBSTRUCTING SIDEWALKS. Every person ln charge of any vehicle shall exercise all possible care to avoid Injury to pedestrians. Pedestrians shall have the right of way over vehicles at regular street crossings at Intersections and halfway between street Intersections, except where the crossing is closed by signal as provided ordinance. Every pedestrian shall keep to the right of tbe sidewalk or street crossing and shall not obstruct or prevent free us of any sidewalk or street crossing by others. Pedestrians shall not stop or stand so as to obstruct the use of the sidewalk. QUIET ZONES. The city mar8hall may establish zones of quiet ln the vicinity of hospitals and other public institutions, and other places, and notices shall be cont spWuously placed designating the limits of such zones. No person shall drive into, deface, injure, move or interfere with any sign, standard, post, chain, rope, or other device installed or placed to indicate safety zones or for the purpose of directing or reg trarnc. ulating Sec. 50. No person shall throw. deposit or place in or upon any pub lic street, or this city any nails, tacks, crockery, scrap iron, tin, wire, bottles, glass, boxes, wood, boards, stone thorns, or thorny clippings, or thorny branches - of trees or bushes, or any other article or thing likely to puncture or Injure the tire of any vehicle. Sec. 51. ACCIDENT. In case of an accident to any person or prop erty on any of the streets of the city, where the operation of any vehicle Is Involved, the person operating or in charge of such vehicle shall stop, and upon the request of any person present, shall give such person his name and address, and if not the owner of such vehicle, the name and address of such owner. Sec. 52. ROLLER SKATING Tt shall be unlawful for any person to skate with roller skates upon any of the public streets of Nephi Oity except at regular crossings, at street intersections and half wav between intersections, and excent UDon such streets as may be set aside for roller skating by the city council. aec. 5 3. MOTORCYCLES AND AUTOMOBILES PRO II I U I T E D FROM SIDEWALKS: It shall be unlawful for any person to ride, drive or use any automobile, motor cycle or other motor driven vehicle upon any of the sidewalks of this city, except for the purpose of crossing the same to enter upon or return from the streets. Sec. RECKLESS OR IMMODERATE USE OF VEHICLES. It shall be unlawful for any person to ride, drive or use any automobile, motor-cyclbicycle or other vehlrle In an Immoderate way or reckless manner upon any of the streets or sidewalks of this city. Sec. 67. RECKLESS RIDING OR DRIVING OF ANIMALS. It shall be unlawful for any person to lead, ride or drive any horse, mule or other animal In an Immoderate war The city Marshal shall designate police officers to attend upon the public streets to control the movements, and order the stoppage of vehicles, In or upon such streets. In order to prevent congestion of traffic, and to prevent accidents. The pro visions of Sections 16. 17. 19, 20, 21 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 42 ot this ordinance shall not apply to sprinkling or street flushing...-ostreet cleaning vehicles operated by" Nephi or the City, persons in charge of the same, while engaged in cleaning, or sprinkling flushing streets of the city. Sec. 65. UNLAWFUL TO POSSESS MUTILATED TIRES.. It shall be unlawful for any person to buy, sell, receive, dispose of. conceal or have in his possession any motor venicie tire or casing from which identification marks have been obliterated or removed, defaced or or destroyed changed, covered whether In whole or in part. Sec. 66. UNLAWFUL TO RITY. SELL, etc., MOTOR VEHICLES. WHEN. It shall be unlawful for any person to buy, sell, receive, dispose of. conceal or have in his possession any motor vehicle from which the manufacturer's serial number or other identification mark has been removed, covered. defaced, altered or destroyed. Sec. 67. UNLAWFUL TO RITY. ETC., FROM MINORS. It shall be unlawful for any person to Durchase or receive any motor vehicle or motor vehicle accessories from a minor. Sec. 68. PENALTY. Anv nerson violating any of the provisions of mis ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof be punished by a fine in any sum not exceeding $299.00, or Dy imprisonment in the City Jail for a period of not longer than six months, or by both such fine and Imprisonment. Sec. 69. REPEAL. An ordin ance of Nephi City passed June 26th, 1914, recorded at pages 96 and 97 and 98 of Ordinance Record B, regu lating tne naing or bicycles and other riding machines upon the streets and sidewalks of Nephi City, ana.
