Mc Cormick, 64, of this city, for several years deputy county assessor of Juab, was found near the road in the vicinity of the Knight and Parker ranches this evening, frozen to death. fie had been missing since the preceding evening. Mr. McCormick Friday received a request from .County Assessor Joel Taylor at Nephi to locate a herd of sheep In the vicinity of the Parker ranch, about three miles from Eu reka. Friday afternoon his grandson, Neil McCormick, son of Thomas A. McCormick, Jr., assistant chashier at the Eureka Banking company's office, took the elder Mr. McCormick to the ranch about 2 o'clock. The grandfather asked the boy to return to that place about 7 o'clock Friday night. The arrangement was made that, if the grandfather was not there the boy was not to wait long with the car. The elder man said that he lying down to die, and at times was on the road and at times some dis tances from it. Mr. McCormick was born In Can ada where he learned the trade o iron moulder. He came to Eureka from Chicago about twenty years ago, and since that time he has fol lowed ranching and various other occupations, being a deputy assessor for several terms. Surviving in ad dition to his widow and Thomas A McCormick, Jr., are Joseph McCor mick and Bert McCormick, both of this city; William McComick of Los Angeles, sons, and a daughter, Mrs John Hill of Salt Lake.
