Vacancy.--"- The regular meeting of the Nephi City Council was held Friday evening. Present: Mayor Thomas Bailey, Louucihuen Forrest, Pay Sperry, and Booth.. The principal business transacted was the discussion of the proposed tax levy for this year. The county tax committee composed of J. W. Paxman, A. V. Gadd, J. W. Olpin, and J. W. Boud, met with the council and reviewed the various items of expense submitted. After a lengthy investigation of the expense account nttfdc to earn the affairs of the city-toanother year, they expressed themselves as being satisfied that the amount of the levy to "be asked . .' br is needed. Tao city tax levy this year will be 12 mills. This is an increase of one ru li from that of last year: It was shown by the council that it is abthe solutely impossible to conductbusiness of the city ou any less due to the fact that the city had to borrow $10,000.00 in order to pay the city's share of the pavement. The basis of representation is one delegate for each 100 votes or major portion thereof cast for Governor Alabey at the election in 1920. Under this ratio Juab County is entitled to 17 delegates at each of these convention .The ss delegates according to, to vote 'cast are divided among' the various precincts of the county as follows: Nephi, 7 delegates; Enreka 2 5 delegates; Levan, delegates; Mona 1 delegate; Mammoth, 1 dele1 delegate; gate; and Silver City, Total 17. Each precinct will elect its representatives direct to each convention, and the chairman and secretary of each primary must properly certify their election which will constitute the credentials of each delegate.
