Representatives of the Colorado District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod heard from Rev. Carl A. Ileckmann, Austin. Tex. at the District's arinual fiscal conference held Aug. 18 and 18, at Denver's Malibu Motel. Presidents and leaders of 127 congregations comprising the District, are from the states of Colorado, New Mexico and Utah and the cities of El Paso, Texas, Page Arizona and Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. The Rev. Mr Heckman, counsellor of stewardship for the Texas District and a representative at large for the Missouri Synod presented the $34,645,104 proposed budget for 1963 (an increase of 10 million over I t. i I Neighbor J 1962.) The district's proposed $886,-57- 6 work program (increased $122,256) was presented by the following: missions and church extension by the Rev. Ray Beins, Denver and Allen T. Christiansen, Aurora; education by the Rev. John Henning. Ft. Collins; stewardship by William Heinecke of Lakewood; scholarship and recruitment by Ed Koepke of Denver and public relations by Fred Shepherd of Denver. Robert Osborne of Calvary Lutheran Church at 7136 So. 17th East returned from the conference Sunday evening, will with other leaders from this area present the proposed budget to his church which will, in turn pledge financial support to the program.
