Beat egg yolks until light, and add Vi cup of sugar, the salt, and lemon juice. Cook in double boiler until thick, stirring Add gelatin to cooked mixture and stir until dissolved. Remove from heat and add rtrawberries. Chill until mixture begins to thicken. Beat egg1 whites until frothy and add the remaining 4 cup sugar, beating constantly to soft peak stage. Fold meringue into cooled strawberry mixture. Pile lightly into baked pie shell; chill until firm.
