' ' CENT Mills With personal property increasing $3 million and total valuation $30 million in assessed valuation this year, Salt Lake County must still look forward to a 1.1 mill increase in county taxes, to a total of 14.1 mills, the highest in history. The 1.1 mill increase, County Auditor David P. Jones pointed out, will be required to meet interest payments on bonds for the Metropolitan llall of Justice, which is not even built yet. Another factor in the mill rate increase, Mr Jones pointed out, is that residential building is increasing, and residential taxes are never sufficient to meet their own governmental costs. To meet such deficiencies, the legislature placed in effect the local sales tax of which the county has apparently been able to spend, making further properly tax raises necessary. Sales tax revenue amounts to about the equivalent of 8 mills. . Rosecrest Captures Little League Title Rosecrest Little League baseball team captured the State Championship Saturday in playoffs at Nephi, Ut.f edging Cedar City, Robert Miller scored one run in the first inning on a Cedar City error to set the stage, then Steve Martin hit a home run with one man on base to clinch the effort. Rosecrest pitchers were Phil Faust and Mlk Smith. 3-- Workmen install wiring on newly-erecteVillage shopping renter sign install- ed this week in the heart of the Holladay busi- ness district.
