This gathering will ne in honor of "Teacher Appreciation Day which is part of American Education Week. TITAN TALENT by Terry Hughes LINCOLN SCHOOL The Lincoln Elementary School PTA is having a dinner for the faculty, officers a nd chairmen, and their partners Friday November 11, 1960 at 7;30 p. m. The dinner will be at the Meaaow Brook Cafe and will be in commemoration of " Teachers Appre- wn ciation Day. Neff Peterson, Mrs. Thomas VanDenBerghe, Mrs. Ronald Cowdell, Mrs. Harvey Blanchette, Mrs. Rex Pitts and Mrs. Kay The Cottonwood Heights PTA room representatives chairmen Betsy West and Venna Patterson announce a room representatives and teachers tea will be held at the Cottonwood Heights School Thursday November 10, 1960at3b45xm. The theme for this event will be the Horn of Plenty. The combined efforts of Mrs. Margaret Jenson and Doug Barnes, faculty and student chairmen respectively, and long, hard hours of work by many Olympus Titan students will be brought to life in the annual "Titan Talent Revue" next Thursday and Friday. " My Land and Your Land" is the tneme tnat the program will run under, and will star various shapes and sizes of Titans. Tickets for the show will be $1. 00 for adults, 5(ty for students, and 25 for children and Jr. High students. The support of the neighboring areas will be greatly appreciated and a good time is guaranteed for all. Ahlstrom. The Master of Ceremonies will be Mr. Harvey Blanchette. Place cards will be small books full of wit and humor. The decorations will be in red, white and blue carrying out an Armistice Day theme. Tne program will be as follows: vocal solo by old Tina Higbee, vocal solo by Mr. Robert Smith, piano solo by Mrs. Blanche Webb, and a reading by Mrs. BUTLER PTA 12-y- ear by Barbara Wand, Publicity Chairman Most of us breathed a sigh of relief Friday November 4th when the last tests were given to mark the end of the first term. The question is: Will those long late hours of studying, hence giving one puffy eyes and the common ailment of "tireditls" mixed hurriedly Wednesday, November 2, 1960, Olympus Jr. held the first -- consultations of the year. Forty one ninth grade girls were chosen to act as hostesses for the evening. During this month two other consultations will be held (November 10 and 15). The same hostesses will assist on these ool evenings. Olympus Bulldogs scalped Kearns' Panthers in a volleyball game Thursday, November 3rd. The men of the school relaxed from the hard hours of studying with their Moms on Monday November 7th celebrating the annual Mothers and Sons Night. Some of the entertainment that soothed their jangled nerves was Gaye Ann Harris playing the piano, a sextet that claims the name of the the Doug Barnes Quartet, and a hilarious pantomime given by Lynn Merrill. These were just a few of tne talented students that were on the program. Later on there was a dance to top off the evening. Football season is over for the Titans this year, but now we are looking forward to basketball. The first practice game the boys will play will be on November 14, 1960. Hi-Ton- es, 12 to 19-- 6 lead. Mrs. Plenk, a practicing child psychologist, will hold your attention completely for who of us can resist words of wlsaom uttered in such a delightful accent! Mrs. Plenk came to America from Hungary and matriculated at Northwestern University, earning there an M.A. degree in Psychology. Her general topic for the evening will be "Meeting the Needs of Children" and Mrs. Plenk surely knows whereof she speaks, for in addition to her chosen field, she is the mother of three charming children. She is also the Director of tne llolladay Center, Community Church Among her many accomplishments and accolades, she has received mention in " Who's Who of A merican Women. " Do plan on attending the program for Mrs. Plenk Is Indeed a stimulating person and perhaps can answer some Inquiry for you during the question period that will follow her address. Troop 315 of the Boy Scouts of America will present the colors and Bishop Grant Pedler of the Butler Ward will offer the invocation. Refreshments, too, of course ! Three place in 'the Region Farmers attack, led by Lynn Porter, able quarterback, tallied up 19 points to claim third place for Granite In the Region Three conference.
